The Trustee Board are delighted to announce that David Brackenridge has been appointed to the permanent position of Chief Executive Officer of Venture Scotland, following an interim arrangement since November 2018. David stepped into the role at a time when there were significant challenges and has steered the organisation into a sustainable position from which we can continue to achieve our aims to change young peoples’ lives in the outdoors.
David’s commitment and passion for Venture Scotland is obvious in all of the roles he has had over the past number of years – as a volunteer, a board member, as the Edinburgh team manager and latterly in his interim role However, as our new CEO, he will have the opportunity to drive our strategy forward and give more people the chance to experience working with, volunteering for and benefitting from our programmes.
David’s achievements this year would not have been possible without the support and hard work of staff and volunteers and the understanding of the young people we work with. The Trustee board are grateful to everyone for their commitment over the past year. We are confident that under David’s leadership the organisation will continue to develop from the strong foundation he and the team have created.
The Trustee Board look forward to working with David, the management team and our wider stakeholder community to continue Venture Scotland’s unique and valuable role in supporting young people.
