Our vision, mission & values

Our vision

The world we aim to create

A world in which people see their self-worth and have hope for the future.

Our Mission

What we’re setting out to do

To deliver long-term, outdoor-based programmes to create a safe and welcoming environment for participants, volunteers and staff, in which everyone develops an understanding of themselves, has a connection to others and the world we live in, enabling people to find their place in the world and hope in their lives.

Our values

Venture Scotland has five organisational values which underpin all the work we do and the decisions we make. We ask all stakeholders-young people, volunteers, board members and staff to challenge us and themselves to live by these values.

Respect

We believe that respect is a basic human right which extends to the world around us and that everyone deserves to be treated with unconditional positive regard regardless of age, sex, gender, race, background or identity.

Belonging

We believe that creating an environment that values everyone, regardless of background, people are seen and valued for who they are and feel connected to Venture Scotland and the wider community.

Compassion

We believe that by working together in an environment of understanding, empathy and kindness allows us to better understand and support each other.

Trust

We believe everyone deserves trusting relationships in their lives and that requires care, consistency and time.

empowering

We believe that everyone deserves to feel strong, seen and supported to discover their self-belief, gain confidence and face their future with hope.
