Volunteer Spotlight – Kath Pender

At Venture Scotland we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our amazing community of volunteers, who give their time, their amazing energy and their huge variety of skills to everything they do with VS!

One of these amazing volunteers is the very adventurous Kath Pender, who plans to tackle the magnificent and wild Cape Wrath Trail this April! Not content with simply walking 370km through one of the wildest places in Europe, Kath will also be making use of another of her amazing talents to channel her surroundings into some beautiful art. To top it all off, she aims to use this massive undertaking to help raise support for Venture Scotland, raising awareness of what we do, why we do it, and how you can help.
“The journey that the young people take with Venture Scotland takes a huge amount of bravery, and so this
is about me taking inspiration from them while trying to give something back through going on a journey of my

own.” Kath has always believed that being able to get outdoors is a huge part of looking after your own mental health and making positive changes in your life, and so Venture Scotland has become the perfect home for her to share this experience with young people and empower them to overcome some of the challenges that they face.
If you’d like to support Kath on her journey you’ll be able to find regular updates on Facebook, through her own website, or through our own social media channels! If you’d like to support Kath on her Cape Wrath Trail and make a difference to the lives of our young people, you can donate through her JustGiving page.
