Evelyn Simpson Chair of Venture Scotland’s Board of Trustees, pays tribute to Graeme Aithie who is leaving the Board after 5 years.
Graeme Aithie is leaving the post of Treasurer having served in that post since February 2015. In that time, Graeme has ably overseen Venture Scotland’s financial management both as a Trustee and as chair of the Finance and Fundraising committee. With increased work commitments and a young family, Graeme had indicated his intention to leave a year ago, but selflessly stepped up to the plate during our recent funding crisis when he committed additional time to support the Trustees, David, Anda and Tricia and provide financial guidance through some very challenging decisions.
He leaves Venture Scotland in a more stable position with a foundation of healthy reserves, robust financial governance and a fundraising strategy that aims for sustainability and diversification. The Board of Trustees is grateful for Graeme’s contribution and commitment to Venture Scotland and we wish him all the best for the future.
